Whats In It For ALL of Mecklenburg County?

In response to the earlier emails regarding advocacy for the 2008 Park Bond of $300 Million several of you have responded with questions about the detail. Attached you will find the complete list as recommended from the 2008 Comprehensive Park Master Plan. This is only a conceptual plan and recognizes the responsibility of elected officials to evaluate current needs and abilities in making their decisions. Please allow me give you a few highlights. These are clearly highlights as I see them but you may see others. We appreciate your advocacy for the entire list. This will help in your communications with the chamber and the board of county commissioners this week end and on Monday and Tuesday. Please Call Should You Have Any Questions and Thank You,
Scott McClure, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Commission (704) 622-1988

How Can I Help?

On June 24, the BOCC is going to make a decision on the size and scope of our November Bond Referendum!
We are asking the Charlotte Chamber to support our county wide bond for $300 million! There are whispers that cause us concern after 2007!
$300 Million offers more for everyone; the citizens to the North, the South and renovates or builds more in Charlotte!
More Parks, More Greenways, More Open Space at a Critical Time All According To The New Comprehensive Park Master Plan!
A Plan Generated From Citizen Needs and Requests, widely supported and endorsed by local elected officials.
We need each of you to reach out to your Charlotte Chamber contacts and the towns!
We need them to contact county commission members and ask them to support $300 million for Parks!
We need everyone to show up on June 24th @ 3PM and July 1 @ 6PM!
I know you will contact each of them as will I but the 10 of us is not enough, you must inspire your friends and the towns to do likewise.
They must mobilize and the vote is only 8 days away.
